The 2014/15 Presidents Cup final was held on Sunday 22nd March. Conditions were less than ideal with showers and a stiffening southerly adding some unwanted pressure on the day. Congratulations to Naren Patel who took out the title with a net 68. Naren was closely followed by Neville Trendle (69), Tavita Mene (70), Toga Laulu (72), Yuriko Manabe (72) and Jo Trendle (72).
Congratulations to Fergie Cup winner Steve Edney with a net 65 and Feltex Cup winner Steve Smith with a net 68. Third place went to Tony McLauglin (68), fourth Martyn Dowman (68). Heading home the Women was Christine Selwyn (68) closely followed by Carol Henderson (69). The lucky card draw was Liz McLean who was not in the clubhouse meaning it jackpots to $200 for the next Club Day which is scheduled for Saturday March 28th.
Shandon welcomes players to the NZ Taxi Federation tournament 9-12th March. Monday is a practice round, competition rounds are Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday. Tied in with a number of social events it is going to be a full on week. The week is completed with NZ Rail playing the last day of their National event here on the Friday.
The second Club Day of the year is scheduled for this Sunday 8th March. Anyone teeing off between 7.00am and 12.04pm is eligible to enter, entry is $5, book your own tee times. Competition is Nett Medal, the current card jackpot (drawn in the clubhouse at 5pm) is $150.
